TIIC 2018 National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest-Analog System Design Invitation Contest was held in Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications during August 26-30. After careful pre-competition preparation and on-site five-day competition, exchange and exhibition, the team composed of students from Shandong University--Wang Xiaohan, a 2015 undergraduate, Li Xiaolin and Cong Zheng, 2016 undergraduates, who are all from School of Control Science and Engineering, emerged from the invitation contest with the novel concept and excellent performance indicators of the work “Digital Multimedia” , and finally won the Highest Prize--TI Cup.
The selection, training and competition of Shandong University's participating teams in this invitation competition are organized by the school's educational platform of electrical and electronic innovative design, and the school of control science and engineering is responsible for the specific guidance and guarantee of the competition. The team of Shandong University, who won the TI Cup, adopted the 16-bit, 4-channel differential input of Texas Instrument, 2K sampling frequency, delta-sigma high-precision analog-to-digital converter ADS112C04 with I2C interface. The designed digital multimeter can measure DC RMS and resistance. The four-wire method for measuring small resistance is adopted in the design, which greatly improves the accuracy and the standby power consumption is very low. Academician Zheng Youling, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Ms. Patty Arellano, Director of Global University Planning, Media, Texas Instruments, awarded them the highest prize.
This Invitation Contest is sponsored by the National College Students Electronic Design Competition Organizing Committee, sponsored by Jiangsu Education Department, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Southeast University, and co-sponsored by Texas Instruments (TI), with a total of 1 top prize (TI Cup), 10 first prize, 17 second prize and 36 third prize. A total of 108 teams from 59 schools in 19 provinces and municipalities participated in the competition. Among them, there are 40 "Double First-rate" construction universities, including Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, National Defense University of Science and Technology, Southeast University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Xi'an Jiaotong University and so on. The participants mainly come from the undergraduate majors of electronic information or electrical engineering in the "double -First rate" construction universities.
National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest-Analog System Design Invitation Contest is held every two years, and the "TI Cup" is the highest prize. The invitation contest carries out the purpose of the National College Students' electronic design contest, adheres to the policy of "government sponsored, expert-led, student-centered and social participation", and promotes the renewal, integration and reform of the teaching content of basic courses of electronic information specialty through the contest, so as to cultivate college students' innovative consciousness, practical ability and engineering practice ability.
