Gao Rui is the professor and Ph.D. supervisor and the General Secretary of Party Committee in the  School of Control Science and Engineering,  Shandong University. He graduated from the School of Mathematics in Shandong University with Professor Mr. Zhou Hongxing and Cheng Zhaolin as his mentor and received his Ph.D. degree in Operational Research and Cybernetics in 2003.  He started teaching in the School of Control Science and Engineering, Shandong University in the same year.

From October 2006 Dr. Gao joined the School of Computer Science and Technology to conduct postdoctoral research. His main research field included biological large data analysis based on mechanical learning, hybrid system theory, complex system control and optimization and he finished the postdoctoral research with excellent performance in Sep 2009. From October 2007 to October 2008, Dr. Gao did research work as a visiting scholar in Washington University in St. Louis, USA. During the period, under the guidance by Professor Mr. Tzyh-Jong Tarn , who is the internationally famous scholar in the field of robotics and control theory, Dr. Gao’s research focused on the modeling and optimal control problems in  Molecular Biology system. Since 2003, Dr. Gao have published over 60 academic papers as the first author in his research filed in core international journals and at significant international academic conferences.

Since 2010, Dr. Gao directly took charge of one key project and two general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, participated as the second partner in one key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
