ALIAN CHEN

Profile

Alian Chen is a professor at School of Control Science and Engineering, Shandong University, China. She received the B.S. degree in Applied Electronics Technology and the M.S. degree in Power Electronics and Electrical Driver from Shandong University, Jinan, China, in 1998 and 2000 respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2005. She joined the School of Control Science and Engineering, Shandong University and was promoted as an Associate Professor in 2005, and has been a Professor since 2010. During 2013 to 2014, she was a visiting scholar with the Center for Power Electronics Systems (CPES), Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA.

Her current research interests include renewable energy generation system, converter topology/modulation and their applications, microgrid optimal design and operation.

Prof. Chen has published 2 monographs, and authored 85 journal/conference papers and 31 issued patents. She received three projects supported by National Nature Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in 2010, 2013 and 2018 respectively. She won one Second Class National Award for Science and Technology Progress in 2016 (2nd place), two Second Class National Teaching Achievement Awards in 2014, 2018 respectively and seven other scientific and technological achievement awards from Provincial Government and the State Educational Ministry of China. She honored State and Shandong Provincial Young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions.
