Fengyu Zhou, Male, born in 1969, Professor and PhD Supervisor at Faculty of Control Science and Engineering (FCSE) at Shandong University, the Chief Scientist of National Key Research and Development Plan Project.

He is Director of Cloud-based Intelligent Robot Laboratory in Robotics Research Center of Shandong University, Deputy Director of Modern Logistics Research Center at Shandong University and Head of School of Logistics Engineering at FCSE. He is Member of FCSE’s Teaching Steering Committee and Public Affairs Committee respectively, Senior Member of China Automation Society, Member of the Construction Robot Committee, and Member of IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. He serves as an evaluation expert for National Science and Technology Progress Awards, Ministry of Education Science and Technology Awards and National Key Research and Development Plan Project, and a review expert of Shandong Province Major Program. He is an awardee of the 4^th Teaching Expert Award of Shandong University and the 1^st AMD Teaching Fellowship.

At present, Professor Zhou mainly focuses on teaching, research and development in the fields of intelligent robot, Cloud robot, Embedded Systems, Intelligent control theory and methods. So far, he has undertaken in total 13 national-level projects including 1 national key R&D plan project, 6 national 863 projects and 6 projects supported by national funds, 12 provincial-level projects, and more than 10 product development projects. As a result, he has obtained a number of prestigious technical awards, including 1 second prize for national scientific and technological progress, 2 first prize for scientific and technological progress in Shandong Province, 3 third prize for scientific and technological progress in Shandong Province, and 1 third prize for outstanding scientific research achievements of Shandong higher education institutions. Besides, he has published over 160 core journal or conference papers at home and abroad, such as Information Sciences, Nonlinear Dynamics, ISA Transactions, Knowledge-Based Systems, Journal of Automation, Robotics, IFAC and so on. Among them, 107 articles were included in SCI and EI.

Professor Zhou has authorized 17 invention patents, more than 30 utility models, 15 software copyrights. There are other 20 invention patents to be authorized. As Principal Investigator (PI), he has developed several types of physical robots, including hospital ward patrol robot, elderly-care robot for nursing home, cloud-based smart home robot and many other robot-related products. These robots have been gradually putting into practice and market and generated good social response. Given these achievements, Professor Zhou and his robots have received high exposure on more than 10 mainstream media national wide. On top of that, more than a dozen new products that Professor Zhou developed for companies have been industrialized with more than 1 billion yuan output value being generated.
