Project title:Building Efficiency and Sustainability in the Tropics (2012~2017, National Research Foundation, 18m SGD)

Research work -Cooperative control system design of Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) cooling system.

  • Establish indoor room temperature distribution dynamic model and indoor air quality (IAQ) model.

    Project title:New Generation HVAC Systems - Total Energy Efficiency Solutions (2012~2017, National Research Foundation, Competitive Research Programme, 10m SGD)

    Research work -Study and develop distributed optimization approach for ACMV system for energy consumption reduction.

  • Develop distributed Stochastic Model Predictive Control (SMPC) strategy for terminal unit control of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system.

    Project title:Distributed fluid network system modeling, estimation and control (2014~2016, NSF of China, no. 61304045, 250k CNY)

    Research work -Provide distributed model of network flow systems and develop distributed estimation algorithm.

  • Investigate distributed controller of network flow systems.

  • Estimation of nonlinear flow system with unreliable network communication.

  • Optimize network flow system based on distributed optimization approach.

    Project title:Stochastic HPreview Control (2013~2015, NSF of China, no. 61203045, 240k CNY)

    Research work -Study optimal control of stochastic delay system. Using maximum principle to develop optimal cost function and design optimal controller.

    Project title:Distributed - Cooperative Information Processing and Control (2009~2013, Temasek Labs, no. POD0914267, 482k SGD)

    Research work -Develop distributed cooperative control algorithm for multi-agent systems in difference scenarios, including transmission delays, noises, and data rate constraint.

  • Implementation of distributed cooperative control and formation control algorithms to AmigoBot systems.

    Project title:Cooperative Estimation and Control Theory with Application in Wireless Sensor Networks (2009~2010, NSF of China, no. 60828006, 200k CNY)

    Research work -Study and develop distributed consensus control in wireless sensor network.

  • Given consensus control protocol, provide network connectivity condition for guaranteeing consensus.

    Project title:Modeling, control and optimization for complex sensor and control networks (2008~2010, NSF of China, no. U0735003, 1.4m CNY)

    Research work -Develop optimal control of complex systems especially for input delay systems. Based on dual principle and reorganization approach, provide the explicit form of optimal linear quadratic regulator and linear quadratic tracking in terms of 2D Riccati equation.

    Project title:Observer-based robust fault diagnosis of linear time-delay system (2004~2006, NSF of China, no. 60374021, 200k CNY)

    Research work -StudyHrobust fault estimation of linear time-varying discrete-time system based on Krein space Kalman filtering theory.
